Pirates...which kid doesn't love them. The new DUPLO Jake and the neverland pirates play sets are perfect for those who love pirates. We choose Jake's pirate ship Bucky and it was nice to have some toys around that is suitable for our 2 year old nephew as well as for my 3 and 5 year old kids. They love it! Perfect for playing outside: put a bucket filled with water outside so the ship can float and a few hours of playtime is garanteed. The coolest part of the ship is the canon they can actually shoot with. And no worries; no tiny bullet which you find behind your couch 3 months later but a big one.
And now the good news! This play set could be yours because LEGO has one available for my readers! The only thing you need to do is follow this blog and leave a comment below. You can enter untill sunday 7 July 2013.

Leggings for little girls
Sewing leggings is so rewarding. A minimum of effort and you'll know it will get worn to the max. I made the tank top a while ago and we borrowed the denim blouse from the big brother.

Tank top 'schemer'
The other day I visited Tas-Ka. These designers own a wonderful shop in The Hague where they sell their own designs as well as designs from others. I particularly love their fabrics that they also design themselves. I bought a piece of 'schemer bruin' and used it to make a tank top for my daughter. For the back I used white cotton and put snaps on it to close it. I'll be returning soon to get some more of those beautiful fabrics because this tank top is already a favorite item in her closet and she can use some more.

Army jacket
My son’s
summer jacket from last year didn’t fit anymore. Looking on webshops I didn’t see
anything I liked so I made one myself. My son had a red/black/gold coloured
jacket in mind but I managed to talk him out of that colour combo. I decided to
go for an army look. There is summer fabric everywhere so it was hard to find
army fabric. Eventually I ordered it online but it wasn’t the quality I had
hoped for. I used it anyway, but next time I’d use another type of fabric.
